Joseph A. “Joe” Justus, age 66 of Menomonie, died Monday, December 1, 2025 at his home in Menomonie with his family by his side. Joe was born on June 11, 1959 in Menomonie. He was the son of Marion and Betty (Scheele) Justus. Joe grew up in Glencoe, MN and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1977. Eugene H. "Shag" Skjegstad
Eugene “Shag” H. Skjegstad, age 100, of Menomonie, died peacefully on Friday November 28, 2025, at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie. Gene was born July 20, 1925, in Menomonie, the son of Ole and Vivian (Nelson) Skjegstad. He graduated from Menomonie High School and completed two years at The Stout Institute. Gene married Virginia Stoll October 16, 1950, in Menomonie. As a life-long resident of Menomonie Gene worked for the railroad, drove taxi, city bus and school bus

Ice safety reminder from the Menomonie Police Department
THIN ICE WARNING – PLEASE USE CAUTION We want to remind everyone that ice conditions remain extremely unsafe on local bodies of water. Over the past several days, multiple people have fallen through thin ice by Cemetery Bay on Lake Menomin. City of Menomonie begins tree removal
The City of Menomonie’s Community Services Department will begin tree removals this week, with a primary focus on ash trees affected by Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). What to Expect Crews will begin with high-priority safety removals before moving into the Elmwood Addition neighborhood. After Elmwood is complete, work will shift to North Menomonie neighborhoods.
