Elk Mound Police Chief Chad Weinberger announces candidacy for Dunn County Sheriff
Elk Mound Police Chief Chad Weinberger announced he filed paperwork to run as a write-in candidate for Dunn County Sheriff. He has released the following statement.
In light of the decision of the Village of Elk Mound to shift their law enforcement coverage, some of the citizens asked me to 'throw my hat in the ring' for the Office of Sheriff. Although in the 11th hour of the election, I filed the candidacy paperwork out of my commitment to the community and willingness to serve in any capacity.
My candidacy is filed as an independent as my focus is on public concern and not a political party. This adventure is completely backed with major assistance from supporters - hoping social media and "word of mouth" help give our community an option at the ballot. I'm working to update my page with information about my experience and leadership style.
