Menomonie P.E.O makes donation to Wisconsin Foster Closet
Menomonie P.E.O. Chapter DD chose the Wisconsin Foster Closet as its 2025 Christmas project and collected $735 in donations from our sisters. Our treasurer, Cyrilla Face, is shown here presenting a check to Tammy Wood-Garr, the founder and director of the organization, which she originally started in the basement of her home. They provide much needed supplies to children who often leave their homes with nothing but what they are wearing. Submitted.

Darlene E LaBrec, age 89 of Menomonie, formerly of Arkansaw, died Sunday, January 11, 2026 at her home in Menomonie. Darlene was born at the home of her parents, Wm and Edith (King) Cataract on April 12, 1936 in the Town of Frankfort, rural Pepin County. She attended Oak Center, a one room school, and graduated from Arkansaw High School. Gale R. Volbrecht age 77, of Menomonie, WI passed away Friday, January 9, 2026, peacefully at home. He was born October 3, 1948, in Eau Claire, WI to Gerald and Irma (Schumacher) Volbrecht. Carolyn Mary Ninneman (née Horgan), age 89, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. She was born on January 6, 1936, to David and Vernie Horgan in Mankato, Minnesota. She grew up in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, in a loving and active Catholic family, surrounded by five siblings. James Lloyd Drury 1940-2026 James Lloyd Drury age 85 of Menomonie, Wis. went home to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, January 10, 2026.
