Dona Marie Hasse, age 100, of Menomonie, WI passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, at American Lutheran Home.
Dona was born November 25, 1925, in Spring Brook, WI to Albert and Ella (Windler) Hintz.
She grew up in Menomonie on a farm. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1944 and attended Dunn County Normal where she graduated in 1946. Dona married James Hasse on August 1, 1946, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie. They had two children and moved to St. Paul, MN in 1950. She was a housewife who enjoyed sewing, baking and puzzle making.
In 1984 they moved to Sturgeon Lake, Mn. And that same year her husband died. She remained in Sturgeon Lake enjoying walks, being with friends, going to church and doing puzzles. She was also a very good seamstress who made all kinds of different clothes for family and friends. She moved back to Menomonie in 1993 to be closer to her mother. She remained there till her death.
Dona is survived by her son Terry (Valorie) Hasse and grandson Jeremy.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Ella, a brother Richard, a sister Geneva, daughter Rhonda Kay and her husband James.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 10, 2026, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with a luncheon to follow. Private burial at Elmhurst Cemetery in St. Paul, MN will take place at a later date.
