James R. "Jim" Wenzel
James R. “Jim”, Wenzel age 86 of Menomonie, died Wednesday October 22, 2025, at The Neighbors of Dunn County with his wife by his side. Jim was born September 20, 1939, in Neenah, WI. He was the son of James and Alice Wenzel and grew up in the Neenah area. Jim attended St. Margert Mary Elementary and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Neenah. Jim served in the Marine Reserves and worked for Banta Publishing Company for 42 years, he also worked with cattle and horses.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Eugene Skillings who left this world peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the age of 82. Dan was born on 12/4/42 to George and Orpha Skillings and grew up on the family farm near Dunnville, WI. Dan attended Durand High School. Last Second TD Plunge Ends Mustangs Season in Level 1 Matchup
By Chad Zutter - Sports Reporter Onalaska, WI - Onalaska Hilltoppers quaterback Ian Kowal stepped up in the pocket, scrambled and plunged into the end zone with 11 seconds left to secure a 34-31 victory over the Menomonie Mustangs in the WIAA Division 3, level 1 matchup. It was the final lead change of the game, where both teams led by double digits at one point. The Mustangs led 16-0 after the first twelve minutes behind the legs of DJ Butler and strong offensive line play.
