United Way St. Croix & Red Cedar Valleys is pleased to announce the return of its annual Day of Caring event for Dunn and Pepin counties. Scheduled for October 1, 2026, the event builds on last year's success, when more than 120 volunteers supported nonprofits throughout the two-county area, continuing a valued tradition of strengthening our communities.

Volunteers will gather at Bill's Distributing in Menomonie at 7:30 AM for registration, breakfast, volunteer and sponsor recognition, and to receive event T-shirts and refreshments before heading to their volunteer project sites. Following the morning gathering, teams will depart for their designated project sites at 8:30 AM. The half-day event is expected to conclude by 1:00 PM.

"We're pleased to continue the Day of Caring tradition and bring our community together for another day of service," said Randy Morrissette II, Executive Director of United Way St. Croix & Red  Cedar Valleys. "Each year, this event demonstrates what can happen when volunteers, businesses, nonprofits, and community partners come together with a shared purpose. We look forward to  another meaningful day of making a difference throughout Dunn and Pepin counties."

Nonprofits seeking project assistance, as well as community members interested in volunteering, can register for the event at www.uwvalleys.org/day-of-caring. The deadline for project registration is September 15, and volunteer registration closes September 30.
