Notes for the Week - September 10th

The Boys and Girls Club hosts a monthly youth late night, where kids get extra time to stay for more fun activities. This month's theme is Applepalooza, and they are looking for donations. They need about 100 apples and are asking the community for help sourcing them. If you know someone who can donate, or if you would like to, please reach out to them via email menomoniecenter@cvclubs.org or message them on Facebook.

Posted on Facebook this week by Engel's Great Pumpkins and Carvings. Meet MABEL — Our Dunn County Jail Garden Heavyweight! MABEL is officially estimated at 1,071 lbs, and she’s looking absolutely incredible out at the Dunn County Jail Garden. Her plant is actually healthier than the ones at home, with great late‑season growth and a canopy that just keeps pushing. I pulled the squash plant today and planted winter rye and Daikon radishes for a cover crop — a huge step in rebuilding soil structure, boosting organic matter, and setting the patch up for even better results next season. MABEL is scheduled to be displayed at Titletown the weekend of October 17th.
From Vino Cappuccino:
We’d love your help sharing that Vino Cappuccino is open year‑round! We’re here in every season, through every kind of Wisconsin weather, and we’ll be transitioning to our off‑season hours — including brunch — sometime in October.
We’re looking to fill openings in our Artist Calendar for October–April! Each month, we feature a new artist in our library, giving local artists a space to share their work with our community. Over the past year, we’ve had such an incredible variety of artists and art styles, and we’ve absolutely loved seeing our space transform with each new collection! If you're interested in showcasing your art with us, please email info@vino-capp.com. PLEASE INCLUDE SAMPLES OF YOUR WORK!
