MHS Class of 2026 Valedictorians

Five seniors - Grace Edenborg, Madeline Horvath, Miles Ogden, Luke Pember, and Noah Slaback - have been named valedictorians of the MHS Class of 2026. To achieve this honor, students must have a cumulative high school GPA of 4.0 through the first semester of their senior year.


Read on to learn more about these accomplished young adults.



Grace Edenborg will attend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, where she will major in Biology and minor in Spanish and Business. Graduate school or medical school is a possible future path.


Grace was on the swim team all four years of high school, lettering each year and serving as captain her senior year. She also participated in Science Olympiad, band, and DECA, and served on the graduation committee. She was the co-founder, editor, and writer for the school newspaper and made the All-State Journalism Team. Grace is a member of the National Honor Society and completed more than 75 hours of community service during high school. She will receive a Global Education Achievement certificate with her diploma.


Grace is the daughter of Kate and Jay Edenborg.





Madeline Horvath will attend Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, majoring in Physics with minors in Astronomy and Spanish. She plans to pursue a PhD in Astrophysics or Astronomy.


Madeline was a member of the Science Olympiad team all four years, serving as team captain her senior year. She was on the swim team for four years, earning a varsity letter each year. Madeline was also a member of the band, playing the euphonium throughout high school. She was a National Merit Finalist and is a member of the National Honor Society. Outside of school, she is involved in 4-H, serving as club president and earning the Wisconsin Top 10 Key Award. She also received the Rotary Club’s Community Service Award for accumulating more than 230 hours of community service during high school. Madeline will receive a Global Education Achievement certificate with her diploma.


Madeline is the daughter of Megan Bayrd and Paul Horvath.





Miles Ogden will attend Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he will study Physics and Astronomy with the goal of pursuing a PhD.


Miles played soccer throughout high school, serving as captain his senior year and receiving all-conference recognition. He also played trombone in both the band and jazz band all four years. Miles served as president of the chess club during his junior and senior years and was co-founder of the French club. He participated in Science Olympiad, Academic Decathlon, and Forensics, serving as captain his senior year. He also acted in the school musical this past spring and served on the Link Crew. Miles is a member of the National Honor Society and has completed more than 160 hours of community service.


Miles is the son of Christa and Mitch Ogden.





Luke Pember will attend Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, majoring in Construction Engineering.


Luke was a standout athlete, participating in football and wrestling throughout high school. He earned all-conference honors in both sports during his junior and senior years. He also qualified for the state wrestling tournament as both a sophomore and senior and finished sixth at 165 pounds his senior year. Luke is a member of the National Honor Society and completed more than 80 hours of community service during high school. Outside of school, he is active in 4-H and served as club president.


Luke is the son of Eric and Coleen Pember.







Noah Slaback will attend UW–Stout in the fall. Though he has not decided on a major, he is considering a career in teaching.


During his senior year, Noah participated in the fall play, and throughout high school, he contributed many hours of community service while volunteering at Monday’s Meal, the free community meal at Menomonie Methodist Church.


Noah is the son of Ryan and Wendy Slaback.
