Kenneth J. Hansen

Kenneth J. Hansen, age 80, of Downing, WI, passed away August 8, 2026, at Glenhaven Nursing Home in Glenwood City, WI.

Ken was born July 2, 1946, in Baraboo, WI, to Vivian and Helen (Grabowski) Hansen. He grew up in Wisconsin Dells and had many stories about working at various tourist attractions in the 1960s.

Ken married his love of 58 years, Karen Smith, on May 4, 1968. They lived several years in Milwaukee and Random Lake, WI, then moved to their home south of Downing in 1980. Ken worked for many years in television repair and was a fixer of everything. Ken enjoyed trains, especially steam trains, and traveled coast to coast with their camper, visiting national parks, seeing the sights, and riding the steam trains.

Ken is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Keith (Jenny) Hansen of Glenwood City; daughter, Kristen Hansen of Eau Claire; and grandson, Cody Hansen of Platteville.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Boyceville, WI, with Fr. Anbu officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 9:30–11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery in the Town of Tiffany, Dunn County, WI with Military Honors preformed by Downing-Winterling Post 232.
