Judy M. Hoyt, age 75, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, at Christian Community Homes in Hudson, Wisconsin, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Judy was born on October 5, 1950, in Hatchville, Wisconsin, to the late Elmer and Mabel Hannack. She was raised on the family farm as one of five children, where she learned the strong work ethic and caring nature that would define her throughout her life.
She later met the love of her life, Ronnie Hoyt, and the two were married on September 25, 1971. Together they built a beautiful life in Menomonie, where they raised their beloved daughter, Diane, and son, Joseph. Their marriage was built on love, laughter, and countless shared memories.
Judy's work ethic was second to none. She dedicated more than 40 years to Swiss Miss/Conagra, earning the respect of everyone who worked alongside her. No matter how busy life became, she always found time for the people she loved.
She had countless talents and generously shared them with family and friends. Judy loved gardening and had a gift that rivaled any master gardener. Her gardens flourished because of the care and love she poured into them. She was also an incredible cook and baker. Anyone lucky enough to sit around her table never left hungry, and every meal made you feel like family. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple weeknight dinner, Judy made everyone feel welcome and cared for.
Her creativity was equally remarkable. From beautiful embroidery to treasured handmade Christmas ornaments, Judy had a way of turning simple materials into lasting keepsakes that her family will cherish for years to come.
Judy and Ronnie shared many passions. They loved searching for antiques and spending weekends at estate sales. They enjoyed long drives in their Ford Thunderbird, evenings listening to their extensive vinyl record collection, relaxing around a campfire, and cheering on their beloved Menomonie Mustangs football team. They also adored their miniature dachshunds, Suzy and Millie, who were truly part of the family.
In her quieter moments, Judy enjoyed reading, watching HGTV, and working on puzzles. But above everything else, her greatest joy was being "Grandma." She treasured every moment with her grandchildren—Madeline Bailey, Matthew Hoyt, Andrew Hoyt, and Miles Bailey—and they were the light of her life.
Judy was also a woman of deep faith and a devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hatchville then St Pauls Lutheran Church in Menomonie. Her faith carried her through life's joys and challenges and remained a source of strength until the very end.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mabel Hannack; her beloved husband, Ronnie Hoyt; her brother, Gene Hannack; her parents-in-law, Galen and Elaine Hoyt; her cherished friend and sister-in-law, Marilyn Hoyt; and many other loved family members and dear friends.
She leaves behind her loving children, Diane (Brian) Tremelling and Joseph (Sara); her grandchildren, Madeline Bailey, Matthew Hoyt, Andrew Hoyt, and Miles Bailey; her sisters, Delores (Lawrence) Hulback, Joyce (Russel) Wentlandt, and Gloria (Greg) Anderson; her brothers-in-law, John (Charlene) Hoyt, Richard (Colleen) Hoyt, and Scott (Rebecca) Hoyt; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
In keeping with Judy's wishes, no formal services or memorial will be held. Instead, her family asks that you honor her memory by planting kindness and beauty wherever you go, just as Judy did throughout her life.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff at Mayo Health System, St. Croix Hospice, and Christian Community Homes in Hudson for the compassionate care and kindness they showed Judy during her journey. Your support meant more than words can express.
