Jane Brogan, age 88, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in the early morning on September 3, 2026. She spent her final days surrounded by family and cared for by the wonderful staff at The Neighbors of Dunn County and St. Croix Hospice.

Jane was born on January 6, 1938, in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, where she spent most of her life. She was one of eight children. In 1955, she married Edward Brogan and they had 3 children of their own.

She spent many years working at Appleton Papers before transitioning to providing in-home healthcare with the VNA. Her strong work ethic and dedication to helping others were staples of her working life.

Jane had a fiery spirit and quick wit. She was an intelligent woman who graduated as valedictorian of her class and was involved in numerous extracurricular activities.

The best word to describe Jane is generous. She always put others before herself and did her utmost to make sure those around her were cared for and had their needs met.

Her joy of simple pleasures, along with her humor and unmistakable personality, made Jane uniquely Jane. She loved Halloween and delighted in dressing up as a witch every year to pass out candy to children in her neighborhood. One of her favorite treats was a cold Diet Coke. She could often be found watching her favorite movie, Meet Me in St. Louis. Those who knew her will think of her fondly when reminded of her.

Jane is survived by her son, Patrick Brogan (Lisa); daughter, Lori Searcy; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louis Wouters and Lucille Pendergast; her husband, Edward Brogan; her daughter, Teri Hansen; and her beloved dog, Muffin.

Jane will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
