James Lloyd Drury

1940-2026


James Lloyd Drury age 85 of Menomonie, Wis. went home to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, January 10, 2026.


Jim was born on April 16, 1940 in Hammond, Wis. to Logan and Mayme (Ailport) Drury. He grew up in the Knapp area and attended Lucas School.


On October 1, 1960, Jim married Jean (Hawkinson). Together they raised five beautiful girls.


Jim served in Vietnam during their first three years of marriage. 1960-1963. Until he was sent home due to an injury while in the service.


Some of Jim’s hobbies were, woodworking, gardening, helping on the farm, raising chickens, karaoke, puzzles, camping, going to the races, refurbishing things. He was a typical Steve Smith Senior, from the Red Green show. Jim was quite the comedian. He always had a joke to share! They loved traveling on rustic roads, going to drive-ins, and diners. Their favorite place was Iron River, Wis.


Jim and Jean were Baptized in 1998 by Leroy Nelson of Knapp, Wis. They became born again believers which changed their lives forever. Jim loved his family very much, and enjoyed spending time with them especially his grandchildren. He also loved to keep busy and always finding things to do around the farm. He had many animals his most favorite was his kitties. Jim loved his country and the Packers and watching the Vikings lose.


Jim is survived by his daughters, Debbie (Mark) Engle of Downsville, Cheryl (Joe) Stacken of New Richmond, Laurey (Dan) Schlottman of Boyceville, and his twin daughters Janet Bredeson and Jane Thompson. Along with grandchildren, Angie, Melissa, Jake, Devon, Nicole, Trudy, Justin, Cory, Boyd, Sabrina, DJ, Rosie, Erin, Mariah, Amber, Brady, Dylan, Lexi, and Travis, 27 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He is survived by his brothers, Wayne (Laurie) Drury, Howard Drury, Ron (June) Drury, David Drury, and his sister Violet Drury. As well as many other relatives.


Jim was preceded in death by his parents Logan and Mayme Drury, his wife Jean Drury, two daughters Pam Bengtson and Brenda Butler, grandchild Tyler, His siblings Marilyn Link, Avis Wold, Faye Witt, Lois Harp, and Ruby Wheeler.


A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Michael VanZee officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be performed by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard following the service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Menomonie, WI.
