Gary Lee Buchholz, 87 of Elk Lake, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025.
Born on February 27, 1938, to Victor and Dorothy Buchholz (Dodge), Gary lived a life he enjoyed. From his weekly car auction adventures to making friends everywhere he went, he was especially proud to celebrate 37 years sober.
He married Linda Matsen on July 8, 1967. During their marriage Gary had many careers that he was proud of. From his time at Peter’s Meats, to owning the Elk Lake Tavern, being a meat inspector for the USDA and owning his car sales business.
Gary is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda. Daughter Lisa Buchholz (Darren Hoeppner) of Eau Claire, WI, granddaughter Jordan (Noah) Logslett of Colfax, WI and his favorite little buddy, his great grandson Rowan Logslett. Sister, Debra (Bill) Hughes of Menomonie, WI; Brother, Clif Buchholz of Mondovi, WI and his nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Dorothy Buchholz, his in-laws Earl and Doris Matsen, his favorite dogs, Julie, Bridgett, Suki, and Anni, and all his buddies that he shared so many memories with.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Viking Bowl and Lounge in Colfax, WI on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Gary may have lost the fight, but he truly won the battle.
