4-H Grows Here

The community recognizes the important work that Dunn County 4-H does.  On September 24, the Dunn County 4-H Leaders Council received a $2,500.00 grant from the Community Foundation of Dunn County for the Dunn, Eau Claire, and Chippewa County 4-H Art U program.  This grant, fully funded by the Scot Miller Family Memorial Fund, will spark creativity across generations with virtual art classes led by UW-Stout students as they make connections with 4-H youth from Dunn, Eau Claire, and Chippewa Counties and youth in the community.

The grant is important because, aside from helping with the costs associated with the program, it will also pay for ALL of the art supplies for the upcoming Art U Program, which runs from February 18-March 18, 2027.  This means that because of the generosity of the Community Foundation of Dunn County, area 4-H'ers and community members in grades K-12 may participate for FREE!

Dunn County 4-H is looking forward to a spook-tacular month.  On October 27, the 4-H Youth Activities Council will host a Halloween Party for all 4-H'ers in grades K-5 at the Dunn County Government Center at 6:30 p.m.  They have many fun activities planned with chances to win candy and prizes.  Appropriate costumes are encouraged but will not be required.  For more information, please call Zachary Rozmiarek, the Dunn County 4-H Educator at 715-232-1636.

Looking ahead, all 4-H members and community members in grades K-12 are invited to the Dunn County 4-H Project Discovery Day on November 14 from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  When youth register to join 4-H, they are also asked to choose projects that they are interested in.  Sometimes it is difficult to know which project to choose.

Each year, Project Discovery Day provides opportunities for youth to try out new 4-H projects, all of which are hands-on and interactive.   This year’s projects include Crocheting, Dogs, Cloverbuds, Food Preservation (freezer jam), Horse and Horseless Horse, Mechanical Sciences (force and motion experiments), Foods and Nutrition (no-bake desserts), and Art Appreciation (seed art).
