The City of Menomonie’s Community Services Department will begin tree removals this week, with a primary focus on ash trees affected by Emerald Ash Borer (EAB).
What to Expect
Crews will begin with high-priority safety removals before moving into the Elmwood Addition neighborhood.
After Elmwood is complete, work will shift to North Menomonie neighborhoods.
Later this year, crews will return to grind stumps, add black dirt, and reseed grass.
Because the same crews also handle snow plowing, removals will take place throughout the winter when it’s not snowing.
Safety Reminders
Please give crews plenty of space to work safely.
Do not drive around equipment or trucks blocking streets—they’re there to protect both workers and drivers.
Free Firewood Available
Logs will be dropped at the following locations for residents to take at no cost (cut and load yourself):
City Solid Waste Site — 1602 Gilbert Creek Rd
Red Cedar River Boat Launch — Hwy 29 & River Rd
Thank you for your patience as we continue this important work to keep our community safe and healthy.
