Date, Time and Location
Saturday, May 16 - 8:00 a.m. to Noon
Chippewa Valley Motor Car Association, S89 WI-25 in Durand, WI 54736 (MAP HERE)
The train will be departing at 8:00 a.m. on the dot, so arrive early! We will make the trip, rain or shine!
CVMCA is located ~4 miles south of Durand off of WI-25, just before the intersection with Thibodeau Road. Traveling south on WI-25, the entrance will be on the right. Cross the train tracks and turn right again to enter the gravel parking lot.Â
What to Bring
We strongly recommend bringing snacks, water, and a blanket or cushion to sit on - the train seats are metal and the track can be a bit jarring. Feel free to bring binoculars, field guides, bug spray, and/or sunscreen if you like.
Bring a poncho and/or umbrella for inclement weather. Some of the train cars will have canopies, but others are fully open.
What to Wear
Dress appropriately for the weather. Layers are always a good idea! Wear sturdy shoes for walking on uneven terrain that may be wet.
Additional Details
There is a Porta-potty available on the train.
If you'd like to stay the night nearby, we recommend Cobblestone Inn & Suites. There are a variety of local establishments in quant downtown Durand!
