Alan “Al” G. Danovsky, age 74, of Knapp, WI passed away on August 11, 2025 at his home.
Al was born July 23, 1951 on a farm outside of Boyceville, WI to Emil and Margaret (Clough) Danovsky. He grew up in that area and graduated from Boyceville High School in 1969.
On October 10, 1970, Al married Donna Leis, and together they raised their daughter, Theresa, and son, Mark, outside of Knapp, WI. Al retired in 2008 after working 31 years for Andersen Corporation. In retirement, Al and Donna enjoyed fishing, attending car shows, and taking long road trips out west. Al was an avid hunter and spent several years restoring his beloved ’66 Ford Mustang. He was quick to drop everything to help a family member or neighbor in need, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Al was preceded in death by his parents Emil and Margaret; brother LeRoy; grandson Brett; and nephews Mike and Todd.
Al is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter Theresa (Ernie) Hamman of Chippewa Falls, WI and son Mark (Erin) Danovsky of Chaska, MN: grandchildren Taylor (Colton), Shane, Jasmine, and Faith; great-grandchildren Sky and Letty; siblings Bonnie, Carol (James Sr.), and Tom (Sharon); as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Celebrant Teresa Pejsa officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Tiffany Cemetery in Boyceville, Wisconsin.
