Work on two structures planned in Dunn County Town of Tiffany, Village of Boyceville

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a public involvement meeting to share details about a bridge rehabilitation project on WIS 79 in Dunn County and obtain public input.
When: 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, March 3
A presentation is planned for 4:45 p.m.
Where: Village Hall, 1233 Charlotte St., Boyceville
Built in 1945 and 1955 respectively, the bridges over the south fork of the Hay River in the town of Tiffany and Tiffany Creek in Boyceville are showing signs of deterioration. To address this, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing the following at:
South Fork Hay River Bridge:
Replacing the bridge deck
Making concrete surface repairs on bridge abutments and wing walls
Cleaning and painting bearings
Completing spot painting on bridge girders
Placing new asphalt on either side of the bridge
Replacing guardrail and pavement markings
Tiffany Creek Bridge:
Overlaying the bridge deck with concrete
Replacing joints
Making concrete surface repairs on abutments
Cleaning and painting bearings
Completing spot painting on bridge girders
Removing a portion of the existing pavement on either side of the bridge and placing new asphalt pavement
Replacing pavement markings
Crews also will be removing brush and trimming trees at rail crossings on WIS 79, Center Street and 130th Street. Roadway widening is planned at the latter as well.
During construction, WIS 79 will be closed at the South Fork Hay River Bridge. The proposed detour route uses WIS 170, WIS 128 and WIS 64. At the Tiffany Creek Bridge, work will be completed using single-lane closures controlled by temporary traffic signals. In addition, traffic on 130th Street will be detoured via WIS 170 and 1010th Avenue during road widening.
Construction is currently scheduled for 2029.
More information about the project can be found on its website, including a comment form. Comments on the project are being accepted through March 20.
