WisDOT seeking input on resurfacing projects on WIS 40

Proposed project includes replacing culverts and guardrail and widening paved shoulders

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking public input on two proposed resurfacing projects on WIS 40 – one from County M in Dunn County to the east junction of County B and the other from the east junction of County B to US 53 in Chippewa County.

To address deteriorating pavement and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing the following:
Removing 2 inches of the existing pavement and paving 2 inches of hot-mix asphalt over the roadway
Replacing culverts
Widening paved shoulders
Replacing guardrail
Completing gravel shouldering
Installing centerline and shoulder rumble strips
Placing new pavement markings
Placing a thin polymer overlay on the Hay Creek Bridge
Removing flashing and making soffit and post anchorage repairs to the bridge over Como Creek
During construction, WIS 40 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter lane closures controlled by either flagging operations or temporary traffic signals.
