William "Bill" M. Dedeo

William “Bill” M. Dedeo, age 82, of Menomonie, WI passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family.

Bill was born on September 23, 1942 in Chicago, IL to Martin and Mabel (Goff) Didio. He grew up in DeKalb, IL, served in the US Army as a Specialist 4th class during 1964-1966 (stationed in Fort Carson, Colorado) and earned his GED in June 1989 at Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL.

Bill married Bonnie Swanson on July 2, 1983. He was delighted to become a dad to Bonnie’s daughter, Tammy and adopted her later that year. Bill and Bonnie called rural Sycamore, IL their home for 24 years until deciding to make the move to Wisconsin in 2007 to be closer to their grandson, Kyle.

Bill worked as an auto body man for 43 years and later transitioned to working at the Walmart Meat Department until retiring in 2018. He enjoyed working at both of these jobs but the true joy of his life was his wife, daughter, grandson and son-in-law. In addition to spending quality time with his family, Bill enjoyed many hobbies that included woodworking, spending time in the shop and painting with his grandson, going to car shows with Bonnie in their 51’ Chevy pickup. He also loved fishing (catching trees) with his son-in-law any chance they could.

Bill had an amazing sense of humor and loved to laugh and eat sweets.

Bill is survived by his wife, Bonnie, daughter Tammy (David) Rudolph, grandson Kyle and favorite pup, Ruby.

He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Mabel, a brother Bob and many pets.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Chaplain Richard Rogers officiating, followed by military honors preformed by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard. There will be a private burial at a later date. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and a meal will follow the service.
