Roundabouts planned for Hwy 25 and County BB intersections


This project is north of the Dunn County city of Menomonie on WIS 25 at its intersections with County BB West (south junction) and County BB East (north junction).



Overview


Both intersections have a high number of crashes. To address this and lessen the severity of crashes at both intersections, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:


  • Building a four-leg roundabout at the intersection of WIS 25, County BB East and Northline Road.

    • Currently, traffic is free flowing on WIS 25, and there are stop signs on County BB West and Northline Road at WIS 25.

    • There is also a stop sign controlling traffic heading south on County F, which intersects Northline Road just to the west of its intersection with WIS 25.

    • The County F/Northline Road intersection would be relocated to the west of the current crossing

  • Building a four-leg roundabout at the intersection of WIS 25, County BB West and Walton Avenue


Real Estate

Real estate acquisition will be required to construct the roundabouts at both locations.


Schedule

Construction currently is scheduled for 2031, but work will be advanced if possible.


Traffic Impacts

During construction, WIS 25 is expected to remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter lane closures controlled by flagging.
