Richard "Dick" C. Deutsch

Richard “Dick” Deutsch, age 76, of Menomonie, WI passed away on Wednesday June 18, 2025, at Oakwood Health Services in Altoona, WI.

He was born September 28, 1948, to parents Irving and Lila (Dowd) Deutsch. Dick grew up in the Ridgeland area and graduated from Prairie Farm High School in 1966.

From 1966 – 2011, Dick worked for ConAgra at the Menomonie Division.

On March 23, 1968, he married Betty (Spielman) at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They were together until 1995 and had four children.

He was a proud member of the Union 662, where he served as a Union Steward. In his free time, he enjoyed family vacations at the cabin, various carpentry, listening to country music, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR.

Dick is survived by his children, Melanie Deutsch, Jennifer (Monte) Eslinger, Jessica (Troy) Haats and Charles (Tina) Deutsch; grandchildren Thomas Hadsell, Alexandra Hadsell, Jacob Eslinger, Elijah Eslinger, Nicole (Kenneth) Mullet, Amanda (Cody) Dunn, Angela Haats (Bayley Knutson), Hannah Haats (Alec Dahl), Alexis (Cooper) Kaufman, Kali Deutsch (Riley Gaetz); great grandchildren Catalena Eslinger, Savannah Eslinger, Lila Mullet, Veda Mullet, Elliott Dunn, Bennett Dunn, Violett Dunn, and Everett Dunn. He is further survived by his sibling Robert (Jean) Deutsch, James (Joan) Deutsch, brother-in-law Cliff Whitman and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Whitman, great grandsons Riley Eslinger, and Beau Mullet.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday June 24, 2025 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Michael Penikis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vanceburg Cemetery in the town of Sheridan, Dunn County, WI.
