One deceased in accident on UW-Stout campus

Around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, an individual identified as Mason Douglas Barth was discovered deceased on UW-Stout’s campus near Bowman Hall. Menomonie and Stout police were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The individual is not a current member of the UW-Stout community, but as the incident occurred on UW-Stout’s campus, UW-Stout Police are leading the investigation in partnership with the Menomonie Police Department, Menomonie Fire Department, and other municipal services. The incident is being investigated as an accident.

Any donations or floral arrangements may be coordinated through Gesche Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Neillsville, Wisconsin, which is assisting the family with funeral services.
