In Loving Memory of Mary Catherine Christiansen (Hodges) June 27, 1950 – June 30, 2026

Mary Catherine Christiansen (Hodges), 76, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on June 27, 1950, in Saginaw, Michigan, Mary was the beloved daughter of Arthur Hodges and Elizabeth Hodges (Flynn). She proudly served her country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1975. After her military service, she met the love of her life, Roy Christiansen. Their meeting marked the beginning of a beautiful love story, and together they shared 40 devoted years of marriage, building a family centered on faith, love, and compassion.

Mary dedicated 15 years of her career to Spring Valley kitchen staff, where she was known for her caring heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to the students, staff, and families she served. Her kindness and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Faith was the foundation of Mary's life. She was a devoted member of her church and could faithfully be found in worship every Sunday. Her love for the Lord guided the way she lived, serving others with humility, grace, and unconditional love.

When she wasn't spending time with family or at church, Mary enjoyed quilting, knitting, reading, and listening to the classic music of the 1950s and 1960s. She always enjoyed Detroit Tigers or Lions games. She found joy in creating handmade quilts for those she loved, knitting hats, losing herself in a good book, and reminiscing through the music that brought back cherished memories. Above all else, Mary treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mary is lovingly survived by her sons, Timothy (Ghislaine) Christiansen of Big Spring, TX, Daniel (Sharon) Christiansen of Elk Mound, WI, Roy (Candy) Christiansen of Menomonie, WI, Andrew (Heather) Christiansen of Poynette, WI, and Jeremiah (Jennifer) Christiansen of Menomonie, WI; and her daughters, Shelly Christiansen (Michelle) of Texas, Mickie Zimmer of Red Wing, MN, Lydia (Ian) French of Menomonie, WI, and Elizabeth (Jeremy) Nelson of Menomonie, WI. Her brothers, David (Laurie) Hodges and Allen (Holly) Hodges; and her sister Eileen (David) Cerda. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were blessed by her love and generosity.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Roy Christiansen; her son, John; her grandson, Damon James; and her parents, Arthur Hodges and Elizabeth Hodges (Flynn).

Family and friends are warmly invited to gather in celebration of Mary's life and the countless ways she touched the hearts of those around her.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Cornerstone Church in Elk Mound. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Jacob Mueller officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard immediately following the service, and a meal will be served afterward.

Mary will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten
