Lou E. Woods Jr.

Lou E. Woods Jr. passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 28, 2026.

He was born in Menomonie on Aug. 25, 1973, to Lou Sr. and Sharon Woods, where he grew up with his 7 siblings in the Boyceville area. He attended Boyceville and Ellsworth schools.

Lou had a big heart and loving soul. He was a heavy-haul truck driver. Driving big rigs was his passion. He enjoyed spending time with his canine companion, Chester. He also had more friends than you could count. He loved to camp, fish, hunt, make flip-flop chicken, smoke food, watch car races, and hang out with all his friends and family.

Lou is survived by his best friend and canine companion, Chester, mother, Sharon Brathall of Menomonie; brothers, Henry (Ardella) Woods of Emerald; John (Deb) Woods of Gilmore, IA; Tom Woods of Wheeler; and sisters, Janine (Mike) Elliott of Ellsworth; and Shari (Jeff) Collacott of Menomonie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Lou Sr., brother Noel, sister Debra, stepfather Charles Brathall, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
