Rosemary Zachow Tracy

On Sunday October 11, heaven gained another angel when Rosemary Zachow Tracy passed away at Comforts of Home in Menomonie.

Rosemary was born June 3, 1949 in Hutchinson, MN. Her parents were Eunice Alvina (Jorgenson) and Marvin Loyd Zachow. The family moved from Cosmos, MN to the Glenwood City area when she was about six or seven years old.

She met William “Bill” Zobel when she was 16 years old, they fell in love and were married March 5, 1966 at the Downing Methodist Church. They set up their home in the Downing area, where they welcomed children Terry, Brian, Laurie, and Brent.

Rosemary later moved to Boyceville and became an active member of the Boyceville United Methodist church, including singing in the church choir with reluctant teenage son Brent! She learned about Second Harvest Food Ministry and brought the idea for a Food Distribution ministry to the Boyceville area, which ran for many years and blessed countless people. Later in life, she met and married Les Tracy and relocated to Eau Claire where she resided until 2024.

Throughout her life, her faith in Jesus was very important to her, and she quietly shared her faith with friends and family. Her church families were an important part of her life. She enjoyed watching her children participate in sports, she loved creating crafts, and she loved to travel. She would drop everything to watch the Packers play. Of all the jobs that she undertook, taking care of children was her passion!

Rosemary is survived by her sister Sharon, children Brian Zobel, Laurie Zobel, and Brent (Jessica) Zobel, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Bill Zobel, husband Les Tracy, infant son Terry Zobel, and daughter-in-law Sandy Zobel, as well as many aunts and uncles.
