The Red Cedar Trail and Hoffman Hills are open for cross-country skiing. Both places have been rolled. The volunteer groomers for the Red Cedar Trail plan to groom the trail this Wednesday (Dec. 10th). The trail is designated for skiing from Menomonie to Downsville. If the groomers have time, they will roll the trail south of Downsville to make walking easier. The volunteer groomers for Hoffman Hills will also likely be grooming this week. Signs are up stating it is for skiing only. Walking, running, hiking can be done south of Downsville or north of the Depot on the Junction Trail. Please do not walk, run, or hike on the designated ski trails at Hoffman Hills and the Red Cedar Trail as it completely destroys the grooming.
Trail passes are required and can be purchased HERE.

It's looking to be an AMAZING ski season this year. We've earned it after a couple years of ice and mud.
Buy your state trail ski passes at https://red-cedar-trail-and-hoffman-hills.square.site/ to support our local trails.
Remember -- the Red Cedar Trail and most of Hoffman Hills are official state ski trails, closed to walking and biking once the signs are up. These are the only public ski trails in our part of the state, and our volunteer groomers do a huge amount of work to keep these trails safe and fast.
Some walkers incorrectly think that the middle "corduroy" section is for feet, but actually that is the most dangerous place to put footprints. That corduroy is for fast skate-skiers, who could crash catastrophically if they hit footprint potholes. Please keep feet and dogs off the trail when it is groomed.
