Linda Kay (Tremble) Schwartz, 80, of Round Rock, Texas, and formerly of Menomonie, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025.
Linda shared more than 57 years of marriage with her husband, William (Bill) C. Schwartz. Their relationship, rooted in love, faith, and mutual respect, began in high school and continued through college, where they graduated together from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, and into a lifetime of shared experiences.
Born November 4, 1945, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Linda was raised in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1963. She began her studies at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire before completing her degree at UW–River Falls and later earning a Master’s degree in Linguistics.
Linda dedicated her career to education and lifelong learning. She taught high school English, history, journalism, and yearbook, and later expanded into adult education, consulting, and program leadership. In her work with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, she helped guide healthcare professionals through the transition from paper systems to early computer-based tools.
Throughout multiple moves across the country—including Colorado, Kentucky, Nebraska, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Texas—Linda remained adaptable and engaged, continuing to teach, learn, and contribute in each new community.
She was deeply passionate about genealogy, building a 15-generation family tree with more than 11,000 entries. She was active in Norwegian-American genealogy organizations, including the Trønderlag of America, and founded Norskbok Press, where she published Norwegian genealogy books and authored multiple Aarboks.
Linda also enjoyed dog agility training and competition, earning a Master Agility Champion (MACH) title, and shared a love of travel with her family, visiting destinations including Norway, France, and Ireland.
Linda is survived by her husband, William (Bill) C. Schwartz; her son, Theodore (Ted) D. Schwartz; her daughter, Elizabeth A. (Liz) Schwartz; her granddaughters, Jessica N. Dunmire, Taylor A. Schwartz, and Alexandra L. Schwartz; her great-grandchildren, Killian A. Dunmire and Josephine A. Dunmire; and her brother, John S. Tremble.
