Jim Hamilton Jr.

ree

Jim Hamilton, age 86, of Menomonie, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Jim was born on November 27, 1938, in Gainesville, Florida, to Wilbur and Frances Hamilton. He graduated from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida.

On August 4, 1978, he married Beverly Sabel, with whom he shared 48 years of love and companionship. Together, they built a life that included raising children, grandchildren, and creating a strong family legacy.

Through a close friendship with Jim Link, he discovered land outside of Menomonie, WI, where he and his family eventually settled. Though Jim spent much of his time on the road for work, Beverly kept busy with her passion for caring for horses, cows, dogs, and cats, ensuring their homestead was always full of life.

Jim eventually retired after 38 years with Toro. At that time Jim and Beverly moved down to Fond du Lac, WI to help take care of Beverly’s mother. The couple enjoyed their retirement playing cards, going on day trips, experiencing supper clubs and wintering down in Florida.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly; children Rodney Hamilton, Melanie (Mike) Tucker, Rachael Engebretson, Paul (Terri) Meiselwitz, and Craig (Doreen) Johnston; 10 grandchildren, along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Gail (John) Fawdry.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Frances Hamilton; his in-laws Elmer and Myrtle Sabel; his son, David (Shari) Johnston; and his son-in-law, Frank Engebretson.

A private memorial service will be held for close family.
