Janell M. Evan age 72, of Menomonie, WI passed away Monday, April 20th, 2026 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family after enduring a difficult cancer journey.


She was born Sept. 10th, 1953 in New Richmond, WI to Maynard and Erma Van Blaricom. She grew up in the Downing area and graduated from Boyceville High School in 1971.


Janell married Jeff Evan on Sept. 22nd, 1973, at the Graytown Church of God in the Township of New Haven, and together they grew a family, raising two children while living in and around the Boyceville area.


She lived a life rooted in service, community, and unwavering support for the people she loved. She served as the Sunday School Superintendent at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where she helped guide and nurture the faith of countless children and families.


Her dedication to her community was evident in every role she embraced. She served as an EMT/EMS Ambulance Director in Boyceville for over two decades, demonstrating compassion, steadiness, and a deep commitment to helping others in their most vulnerable moments. She was also an active member of the Boyceville Community Action Club, where she coordinated the annual Pickle Fest Parade, bringing joy, tradition, and togetherness to the town she loved.


Her passion for the arts led her to volunteer as a docent and usher at the Mabel Tainter Theatre in Menomonie, where she welcomed guests and supported one of the region’s most cherished cultural landmarks.


She also spent many years serving in the Dunn County Clerk of Courts Office, where she was known for her friendliness, reliability, professionalism, and dedication to the public.


Above all, she was a devoted supporter of her children and grandchildren, rarely missing a game, performance, or activity. Her pride in their accomplishments was boundless, and her presence in the stands, on the course, or in the audience was a constant source of encouragement.


Janell is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Karl) Palmer of Menomonie, her son Jarod (Jenna) Evan of Woodville, granddaughters Madeline and Sara Palmer, three brothers Rick (Bonnie) Van Blaricom, Glen (Peggy) Van Blaricom, Randy (Paula) Van Blaricom, sister-in-law Janalyn (James) Williams, as well as many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband Jeff Evan, parents Maynard and Erma Van Blaricom, stepfather Verlyn (Bum) Van Blaricom, father in-law and mother in-law Jerome (Jerry) and Joyce Evan.


Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30th, 2026, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Sarah Miller officiating. Visitaiton will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
