Elaine M. (Kuester) Hoyt, 95, a lifelong Menomonie resident, died Sunday, May 10, 2026 at Autumn Village following a brief stay. Elaine previously lived at Dancing Oaks the last three years.


Elaine was born in Menomonie on July 31, 1930, a daughter of the late Carl and Mabel (Hintzman) Kuester. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Menomonie High School. Elaine married Galen Hoyt, and together they raised five boys. She worked at Sanna Dairy, later Con-Agra Foods retiring at the age of 60.


Elaine enjoyed crocheting, stitching, crossword puzzles and gardening. She and Galen enjoyed camping and traveling and had been “out west” and “up north” many times. In later years, they enjoyed Sunday drives and staying more local. She will be dearly missed.


Elaine is survived by her sons: John (Charlene) Hoyt, Richard (Colleen) Hoyt and Scott (Rebecca) Hoyt, a daughter-in-law, Judy Hoyt, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.


Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, her dear husband, Galen of over 75 years and two loving sons: Thomas and Ronnie Hoyt; her siblings: Allan, Virgil and Margaret Kuester. She was also preceded in death by her grandchildren: Bradley and Cassandra Hoyt.


The visitation for Elaine will be held Friday, May 15, 2026 at 10 AM at Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2317 Schneider Avenue SE, Menomonie, WI 54751. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Menomonie.
