The Menomonie Eagles baseball club folded after the 2021 season after a long history of amateur baseball in the city. Fast forward to 2025, the Eagles are back.
The Eagles played a probationary season in 2024 scheduling just over 10 games and with a variety of other amateur baseball teams. The St. Croix Valley league, the league the Eagles have played in previously, were welcomed back into league play for the 2025 season. Other teams in this league include the River Falls Fighting Fish, Hudson River Rats, Spring Valley Hawks, Elmwood Expos, Osceola Braves, Prescott Pirates, Plum City Blues, Ellsworth Hubbers, New Richmond Millers and Bay City Bombers.
Team Manager Ryan Sisko said, “we are excited to be welcomed back into the St. Croix Valley Baseball League after our shortened season last year. We have a youthful roster of players from the local area that are excited for the opportunity to compete against some of the best amateur teams in the state.” Sisko added that he has seen community support for the local baseball club, “we have also been able to partner with a bunch of great local businesses in the area and appreciate their support of Menomonie Eagles Baseball.”
Longtime coach Luke Welch, who managed the club from 1996 to 2018, said this about the Eagles return, “I’m really excited to see it come back. I’m excited to see the local player's interest in the team and seeing the interest from the younger generation. I devoted a big portion of my life to baseball in this town and I’m glad someone is keeping it alive.”
The Eagles will open their 2025 season on May 10th against the River Falls Fighting Fish with a 1 pm game at Wakanda Park. All St. Croix Valley league games are 9 innings.

Roster: Ryan Sisko, Evan Sisko, Sam Sleichert, Sean Barnard, Parker Verdon, Caleb Rynes, Owen Welch, AJ Zydowsky, Tyler Duex, Zach Demarce, Matt Schoff, Isiah Birt, Cooper Brua, Cage Sorenson, Tyler Legge, Alex Slind, Dalton Wang, Lucas Smith, Kamden Johnson, James Hoff, Matt Vesperman and Gabe Bestul.
