Dunn County Humane Society Hosts affordable pet microchipping event

The Dunn County Humane Society (DCHS) is proactively addressing pet safety by hosting a  one-day, low-cost Pet Microchipping Event. This initiative aims to increase the chances of quickly reuniting lost and missing pets with their owners. While microchips typically range from $35 to $50 at shelters and vet clinics across the country, DCHS is offering them at a reduced rate of only $5 per pet for this special one-day event. Join DCHS on Saturday, September 12th from 9 am to 1 pm at Markquart Motors in Menomonie, and experience peace of mind as you take the next step in ensuring your pet’s safety. 

Date: Saturday, September 12^th 

Time: 9 am - 1 pm 

Location: Markquart, 531 Oak Ave W, Menomonie, WI 54751 

Cost: $5 per pet; at this time we can only microchip dogs and cats 

Please bring your dog on a leash and your cat in a secure carrier.

Why Microchip? 

As part of our nonprofit community outreach, we at DCHS believe in providing accessible pet safety solutions. In the United States, 1 in 3 family pets will go missing in their lifetime, but microchips drastically increase the likelihood that your pet gets reunited with you. Dogs with accurate microchip information are 2.4 times more likely to get reunited with their owner; cats with accurate microchip information are 21.4 times more likely.¹ 

Microchips, which are as small as a grain of rice, offer a simple and effective way for animal shelters and veterinary clinics nationwide to identify a pet’s owner. If your dog or cat wanders too far from home, slips their collar, and is brought to a vet clinic or Humane Society as a stray animal, staff can quickly scan for a microchip and reunite the lost pet with their family. Your pet won’t even know it’s there, but we’ll always know where home is.
