There is a lot happening with Dunn County 4-H!
4-H’ers Recent Activities
On April 26, 4-Hers grades sixth through twelfth-grade from Dunn, Chippewa, and Eau Claire counties attended a Robotics Day at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie. During the event, they experienced hands-on learning by building and coding a robot. They also explored the engineering labs and had a tour of the campus. Dunn County 4-H is looking forward to doing more STEM and other activities with UW-Stout in the future.
Dunn County 4-H hosted a Miniature Garden Session for children Kindergarten through fourth grade at the Ridgeland Area Library on May 3rd. This well-attended event was an introduction to 4-H and was open to the public. First, the children learned about the parts of a flower and the life cycle of a bean. Then, they got to choose the type of garden they wanted and planted their Fairy, Dinosaur, or Animal Miniature Gardens to take home.

Upcoming 4-H Activities
4-H Summer Camp will be at Kamp Kenwood and Lake Wissota State Park in Chippewa Falls for 4-H members grades 3-9 on June 9-12th. The 4-H Summer Camp is open to all Dunn County 4-H Members.
Dunn County 4-H is looking forward to having a booth in the afternoons at the Colfax Free Fair where we plan to do children’s activities. Stop by and see us. The fair runs June 12-15.
Summer Project Days are being offered to our 3rd through 6th grade 4-H’ers again this year. These project days will be at the Dunn County Government Building from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesdays from June 17 through July 8. They will include Farm to Fork, Legos, Miniature Gardens, and Nutrition and Healthy Cooking Project. We also plan to have a Cloverbud (4-H members K-2nd Grade) activity planned earlier on those same days from 12:30-1:30 p.m.
There is nothing better than playing ball in the summer and 4-H Softball is no exception. Our 4-H volunteers will cover all the bases when planning the county’s 4-H Softball schedule. When you join 4-H, not only do you get to do some fantastic activities and projects, but you also get to play ball. It is a great way to get to know other youth from around the County. The Juniors (8-12 years old) play on Sunday nights and Seniors (13 years old and up) play on Tuesday nights.
