Dorothy “Dolly” Eva Flick, 96 of Menomonie, quietly passed away on April 30, 2026 at Our House Senior Living. Dolly was born on December 13, 1929 in Menomonie, WI to Clarence and Julia (Skaare) Smith. Baptized and Confirmed at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church in rural Menomonie.

Dolly graduated from Menomonie High School in 1947. The day after graduation she started working as an AT&T telephone operator. Dolly worked in Menomonie, Eau Claire, and Appleton. She remained a telephone operator for over 40 years.

Dolly was united in marriage to Donald Flick and to this union a son, Daniel was born. Dolly, Don and Dan loved boating and water skiing. Dolly was a Clown for Special Olympics and loved making kids of all ages laugh.

Dolly spent her later years living in Lakeland Florida to escape the cold weather, but in 2015 moved back to Menomonie to be closer to family. While in Florida she joined a square-dancing club. She made many new friends and never missed a chance to dance.

Dolly is survived by her son, Daniel and his wife Aida from Lakeport, California, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Julia Smith, husband Donald Flick, sisters Phyllis (Jerry) Millar, Betty (Donald) Schillinger, brother James (Pat) Smith, niece RuthAnn Millar, and nephew Michael Millar.

A special thank you to Our House Senior Living and St Croix Hospice for the loving care given to Dolly.

A private Celebration of her Life will be held May 13, 2026 at Olson’s Funeral Home with Teresa Pejsa officiating. The burial will be at Little Elk Creek Cemetery.

Dolly believed in living life unapologetically. She was always up for some fun and down to share her wit. The following quote seems to embody exactly how Dolly embraced life.

“If in life you stumble, make it part of your Dance” ~ River Maria Urke~
