David William Hermosillo Sr., age 78, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2025, with his wife and children by his side.
David was born on May 27, 1947, in Oak Park, Illinois, to Leo Hermosillo and Mary (Boggs) Wiggins. He grew up in Bridgeview, Illinois, and attended Argo Community High School.
He proudly served his country as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
David was a loving father to two children before marrying Susan Briggs on June 17, 1972, in Burbank, Illinois. Together, Dave and Sue raised five more children and shared over five decades of love and partnership. They enjoyed traveling throughout their life together, and in later years especially loved being snowbirds in Florida to escape the Wisconsin winters.
David worked as a Union Pile Driver with Local 578 for an incredible 54 years. He was a proud and dedicated tradesman. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially during hunting and fishing seasons.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan, of Menomonie, WI; his children: Duke Hermosillo and Angel (Bob) Roerdink; and with Susan: Dave (Shelby) Hermosillo, Stacey (Mark) Schmitz, Shannon Hermosillo, Amanda (Ryan) Borner, and Deana (Terry) Tuttle. He is also survived by many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister Marilyn Krugler; brothers Dean Hermosillo and Jim (Donna) Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father Leo; mother and stepfather Mary and Frank Wiggins; nephews Larry, Tracy (Pat), Andrew (Drew), and Danny (DJ); and several beloved grandbabies who passed too soon.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Menomonie, WI.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Michael Van Zee officiating. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be performed by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard following the service.
Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. A meal will be served at the church at 4:00 p.m. following the burial.
David will be remembered most for his unwavering love for his family, his devotion as a husband, father, and grandfather, and the quiet strength he carried throughout his life.
