Duane Richard Kostman, 85 of Boyceville, WI passed away peacefully at home on May 30th, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. Duane was born May 20th, 1941 to Elmer Kostman and Blonda (Koonst). Duane was a graduate of Menomonie High School.
After graduation Duane went into the Army and served from 1961 to 1966. Duane met the love of his life Kendra Zielsdorf through a set-up by Kendra’s sister Marlene. Duane and Kendra were married on August 19, 1967. Duane worked for Century Fence Company for 42 years, painting roads all over the upper Midwest and even parts of the United States. After retiring off the road, he enjoyed running the Knapp shop for Century Fence for many years.
Duane enjoyed hunting deer and turkeys and loved being up on the land that he owned for many years. Cutting wood and riding his 4-wheeler around looking for wildlife was an everyday occurrence for him. He spent time gardening and fishing in his free time off the road.
Duane was a proud member of the Boyceville Area Sno-Jammers, and you could find him every August cooking their famous chicken for the Boyceville Pickle Fest. He was a member of the Volunteer Boyceville Fire and Ambulance Department. Duane loved spending time watching Baseball, Softball and anything the Grandkids were up to; they were his pride and joy.
Duane is survived by his children Teresa (Dan) Harp, Todd (Missy) Kostman, Troy Kostman; grandchildren, Tori Kostman, Karly (Joe) Kostman Moore, Tyra Kostman and Bryce Kostman; sister, Lois Gwinn, brother-in-law Harland Zielsdorf, Duane (Dope) (Deb) Zielsdorf, and many nieces and nephews.
