The City of Menomonie is now accepting applications for its Nonprofit Financial Assistance Grant, a funding opportunity designed to support local nonprofit organizations working to enhance the quality of life for Menomonie residents.Â
This competitive grant program provides financial assistance for projects or programs that deliver clear, measurable community benefits and align with the City’s priorities for civic enrichment, equity, sustainability, and overall livability. Eligible nonprofit organizations may apply for funding of up to $20,000 per award.Â
Priority consideration is given to initiatives that:Â
Improve quality of life for a broad segment of the Menomonie community
Promote equitable access to services and opportunitiesÂ
Encourage innovation, collaboration, or cultural enrichmentÂ
Enhance Menomonie’s appeal as a vibrant and welcoming communityÂ
To ensure the responsible use of taxpayer resources, applicants must demonstrate a clear community need, identify the public benefit of their proposed initiative, and outline a plan for long-term sustainability beyond City funding. Organizations that have previously received City funding are required to describe the steps they have taken to reduce their reliance on municipal support.Â
Eligible applicants must be registered nonprofit organizations (501(c)(3) or equivalent) that operate within or directly benefit residents of the City of Menomonie. Organizations that have received economic development financing from the City are not eligible to apply.Â
Complete application details, required documents, and the Nonprofit Financial Assistance Grant Program Fact Sheet are available on the City’s website through the Newsflash and the City Council webpages.Â
Completed applications and all required attachments must be submitted via email to the Office of the Mayor at mayor@menomonie-wi.gov by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.Â
Grant award decisions will be made by the Menomonie City Council, with funding determinations issued no later than the second Council meeting in March. Applicants will be notified following Council action.
