The Community Foundation of Dunn County (CFDC) held its Annual Luncheon on May 15, recognizing its 30th anniversary with a milestone year of giving and honoring local individuals and organizations making a difference in Dunn County.

At the event, the Foundation awarded grants to 26 nonprofit organizations, distributing more than $76,000 to support local programs in health, education, youth development, the arts, and community improvement.

Various donor-advised and field-of-interest funds helped support multiple grants in the CFDC’s February grant cycle, including The Scot Miller Family Memorial Fund, the Susan Thurin Resettlement Assistance Fund, the Ostenso Frey Donor Advised Fund, the Jon and Martha Hove Fund, the Rundle Family Fund, the Byron and Catherine Olson Memorial Fund, and the 41 Fund.

Among them, the Scot Miller Family Memorial Fund—a donor-advised fund established in 2018 in memory of Scot Miller—has now distributed more than $60,000 in grants supporting youth and athletic programs across the county. In February, the fund made two major contributions to local baseball: a $5,000 grant to the Boyceville Baseball Association to purchase batting cages and expand the infield at Pafko Park, and a $5,000 grant to the Menomonie Baseball Association for new batting cages.

“These grants reflect Scot’s enduring love of sports and education and his belief in creating opportunities for young people,” said Georgina Tegart, Executive Director of the Foundation. “We’re honored to work with the Miller family to carry forward his legacy through meaningful, community-based giving.”
