Alice Marion Spehle

October 31, 1940 – March 18, 2026

Alice Marion Spehle passed away on March 18, 2026, leaving behind a life full of love, strength, and beautiful memories. She married the love of her life, Charles Spehle, on December 13, 1958, and together they built a life centered around family, hard work, and adventure.

Alice lived in Fall Creek until she and Charles moved to Tainter in 1978. She was proud to serve as President of the Tavern League, was top of the league in bowling, and coached and pitched for the women’s softball team at Elk Point Resort. Together, she and Charles owned and operated Elk Point Resort from 1981 until her retirement in 2001, along with running three gas stations. They spent their winters in Lakeland, Florida, and traveled the world side by side.

Alice loved four-wheeling, sitting by the campfire, fishing, being on the pontoon, and spending time with her family. She truly lived a life most people only dream about. She ran a tight ship, instilling a strong work ethic, and loved so deeply that her sons’ friends became her own—often getting “grounded” right along with them. She was also a devoted fan of NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace and loved attending races.

She loved her time at the casinos with her sisters. What better way for a girls night out, than at a casino!

She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Chris Spehle; her brothers, Charles Stai and Donald Stai; and her sisters, Carol Murtishaw, Shirley (John) Curler, Grace (Norm) Dittner, Beverly (Don) Curler, and Karen (Laverne) Bisek.

Alice is survived by her loving husband, Charles; her sons, David (Leatha) and Kevin (Tammy), Kyle (Tammy); her grandchildren, Sarah (Gary), Nikki (Brian), Candy (Roy), Travis (Kim), Christina (Shawn), and Lacey (Shawn); her great-grandchildren, Jada, Aryssa, Jackson, Mabel, Misty, Lilah, Payton, Sofia, Braiden, Jase, Korbin, Ciara, Dawson (Emma), and Dylan (Mandi); her great-great-grandson, Jackson; and all the kids she fostered.
