William J. Stoeklen Sr.

William James Stoeklen Sr., age 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 3, 2026, after a short stay at Luther Mayo in Eau Claire. He was born July 7, 1935, to Leo and Opal Stoeklen in Spooner, WI.

Bill married Evelyn Gray on May 21, 1955, and they made their lifelong home in the village of Weston in Dunn County, WI. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, an avid horseman, and was as honest as the day is long. He is a man who will be greatly missed.

Bill is survived by his wife of 71 years, Evelyn; son, David (Laura); daughter, Diane; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother; and endless family and friends.

He was preceded in death by three sons, William Jr., Robert, and Steven; one grandchild, Brandi Baskin; one great-grandchild, Miles Baskin; five brothers; and two sisters.

Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI, with Pat Thibado officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, from 4:00–6:00 p.m.

Bill's final resting place will be at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI, at a future date.
