Wayne was born on October 3, 1951, in Loup City, Nebraska. He was the oldest child of Keith and Marilyn (Patterson) Hogg. Wayne attended Ansley Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1970. He continued his education at Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte for one year and then attended Hastings Community College for another year, where he specialized in auto mechanics.
Wayne married Eve Meyer in December of 1971. Together they had two children, Christopher, born in 1974, and Jennifer, born in 1976. He later married Carol Bernhardt in 1979, and they had a daughter, Susan, born in 1980. Wayne later married Linda Wilkens in 1986 and they recently celebrated 39 years of marriage.
Wayne’s passions were sports and anything mechanical—the faster it went, the happier he was. Throughout his life, he held many jobs, including farming, construction, trucking, and handyman work. In his later years, he took great pride in his landscaping and construction projects.

Wayne is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
