At 9:18 AM on Friday November 17, 2023, a crash occurred on I-94 EB at I-94 eastbound at milepost 16 in ST. CROIX County near BALDWIN.
The crash involved 1 fatality and 1 injury. Vehicle and occupant information, if available, is below.
The details of the crash are as follows:
The Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a driving complaint of a wrong-way driver on Interstate 94 eastbound at milepost 19 in St. Croix County. The vehicle continued the wrong way until it collided with an eastbound semi-tractor trailer at milepost 16.
Eastbound interstate traffic was detoured as a result of the crash and subsequent investigation. The driver of the semi-tractor trailer was taken to Western Wisconsin Health in Baldwin with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the automobile
was fatally injured. Their name is being withheld pending notification to the family.
The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol.
Assisting agencies included St. Croix Sheriff’s Dept., Balwin Police Dept., United Fire Dept., and Baldwin EMS.
