Thomas Spagnoletti age 75, of Dunn County passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
Tom was born in the Chippewa Valley to Don and Donna Spagnoletti. He was baptized and confirmed at E.U.B Church in Elk Mound, WI. Tom went on to graduate from Elk Mound High School. Tom was drafted into the U.S Army and served two years until he was honorably discharged.
Upon his return from military service, Tom began his working life at Peter's Meats in Eau Claire before embarking on a career in healthcare that spanned more than 25 years, including roles in both as a Licensed Practical Nurse and administration. Tom finished his working days at 3M before a well-deserved retirement.
Tom married Patricia Olson, and from this union his daughter, Jennifer, was born. They later divorced. He went on to marry the love of his life, Joan, with whom he shared nearly 50 years of marriage. Together, they raised three children.
Tom's commitment to civic duty extended well beyond his military and healthcare careers. He proudly served his community for many years as a volunteer firefighter and also dedicated several terms as a village board member.
A lifelong lover of music, Tom found joy in listening, playing, and teaching. He played bass in several bands throughout the 1980s and 1990s, with rehearsals famously held in Tom and Joan's basement and equipment hauled in the family van.
Above all, Tom cherished time spent with family and friends, especially pontooning on the lake. He was an avid fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Green Bay Packers. Some of his fondest memories were Sunday afternoon rotating Packer parties with the Elk Mound crew. Tom was very grateful for family and many friends.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Joan; his children, Jennifer, Amy (Mo), Joe (Alecia), and Mike (Katie); and his seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Diane (Dave) and Mary (Roger); his brothers, Gari (Judi) and Jim (Bev); his sisters-in-law, Deb (Mark), Diane (Dan), and Ruth (Bruce); his brother-in-law, Kevin; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Daryl (Corky); sisters-in-law Barb and Betsy; brother-in-law Bill; and his parents-in-law, Theresa and Ed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Celebrant Teresa Pejsa officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Military Honors will be performed by Menomonie Veteran Honor Guard.
