Theodore "Ted" R. Watland

Theodore "Ted" R. Watland, age 75, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the Neighbors of Dunn County.

He was born September 6, 1949 in Menomonie, WI to parents Elmer and Arlene (Fritz) Watland.

Ted was a heavy equipment operator his entire career. After serving in the U.S. Army as an MP, Ted and his father formed an excavation business that they ran for 21 years. After that, Ted was a Union Operator for Engineers Local 139 and Ames Construction.

Ted was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, and excellent pool shooter.

Ted is survived by his brother Gary, nephews Doug, Nick, Jesse, and Matthew, niece Gina, and brother-in-law Glen Miller.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Arlene (Fritz), his sister Gloria Miller, and his brother Bill.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Olson Funeral Home with Pastor Sarah Miller officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in the Town of Dunn, Dunn County, Wisconsin with Military Honors performed by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard. A luncheon to follow at the Town Hall in Downsville.
