Tamra M. Jones of Menomonie, WI entered her heavenly home Friday, May 8, 2026 at The Classics at Hillcrest Greens in Altoona, WI.
Tamra was born April 27, 1959 in Tomah, WI to Gale and Mary Potter. She grew up in Janesville, WI and Graduated from Joesph Craig High School in 1977.
Tamra married Grant Jones January 1, 1990 at St. Mathews Lutheran Church in Janesville. They moved to Menomonie in 1993. Tamra graduated Summa Cum Laude from U.W. Stout in 1995 with a degree in business. Tamra traveled for Pitney Bowes for a few years then joined Bristol Myers Squibb and enjoyed 22 years as a sales representative. Tamra loved building relationships with the medical professionals she worked with. The onset of Alzheimer’s Disease forced her to retire sooner than planned. After her Alzheimer’s diagnosis she became an enthusiastic voice in support of other families enduring the tragedy of Alzheimer’s. Tamra’s outreach efforts led the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association to honor her with The Courage Award in 2023. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Menomonie.
Tamra is survived by her husband Grant of Menomonie. She is also survived by mother Mary Kowal of Janesville, WI., sister Paula Winke of Mission, KS, brothers David Potter of Fort Wayne, IN and Stephen Potter of Janesville, WI. and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gale Potter.
Grateful and heartfelt thanks to the loving, compassionate staff at The Classic at Hillcrest Greens and St. Croix Hospice. They expressed their love every day that Tamra was in their care.
At the request of the family, a private funeral will be held. Tamra’s cremains will be scattered at a later date.
