Ruby E. Wheeler, age 94, of Menomonie, WI, formerly of Boyceville, WI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie.


Ruby was born on September 4, 1931, in Chippewa County, WI, to Logan and Mayme (Ailport) Drury. She grew up in the Knapp area and attended Lucas School.


On June 21, 1951, Ruby married LaMont Wheeler. Together they raised five children and built a life focused on family and faith.


She was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church in Boyceville. Ruby enjoyed walking, baking, and doing crossword puzzles. She also spent many hours volunteering at the local food pantry.


Ruby is survived by her children: Gloria (John) Connolly, Mike (Marilyn) Wheeler, Linda (Rod) Malean, Larry (Sandy) Wheeler, and Dan (Bonnie) Wheeler. She is also survived by grandchildren: Joe Casey, Brian (Carey Jo) Casey, Sherrie Casey, Mary Jo Knops (Troy Windsor), Melissa (Don) Von Arx, Sheila (Chad) Lee, Brent Larson, Corey (Julie) Wheeler, Josh Wheeler, Carey Wheeler, Barbara Ann Bauer, Cynthia (Bryson) Peters, and Daniel (Sandy) Wheeler. Her great-grandchildren: Sydney (Anthony) Lindgren, Tyler Casey (Shay Souza), Kamden Casey, Addison Mertz (Cierra Clay), Kaenen Casey, Noah Casey, Elizabeth Bealer, McKenzie Casey, Kyle (Krista) Knops, Ryan Von Arx, Jacob Von Arx, Joe Von Arx, Bryce Larson (Shanda Trainor), Morgan (Srujan) Lee, Kaitlin Lee, Connor Larson (Tessa Stender), Vinnie Wheeler, Levi Donahue, Makailla Hughes, Terry Peters, and Henry Peters. She is also survived by great-great-grandchildren: Adalynn, Easton, Ella, Style, Skylar, and Hadley. Ruby is further survived by brothers: Wayne, Howard, Jimmy, Ronnie, and David Drury, and sister, Violet. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, LaMont Wheeler; parents, Logan and Mayme Drury; granddaughter, Jessica Larson; granddaughter-in-law, Sherry Casey and great grandson, Zachary Casey. She was also preceded in death by sisters: Marilyn Link, Avis Wold, Lois Harp, and Faye Witt.


Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI. with celebrant Teresa Pejsa officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place afterward at Forest Hill Cemetery in the Town of Stanton.
