Robert (Bob) Earl Fischer Jr age 82, of Elk Mound, WI passed away peacefully with his loving wife at his side after a long illness on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Mayo Hospital in Menomonie, WI.


Bob was born October 23, 1943, to Robert Earl Fischer Sr and Dorothy Fischer (Powers). He was the oldest of five children. He graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1961 and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a bachelor’s degree in history and economics in 1966.


In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his father and grandfather. Later in life he loved to read, go to movies and spend time with family.


His first job was at the Eagle Star newspaper in Marinette, WI. He later worked at Presto in Eau Claire, Flour City Brush in Minneapolis, and retired from Federal Foam in New Richmond, WI in 2008.


He married Sharon Duxbury in 1963 and they had 3 children. They divorced in 1977. He married Nancy Risberg of Blair on June 11, 1988, at the First Lutheran Church in Blair WI.


Bob and Nancy enjoyed many trips with family over the years. One of their favorite trips was to southeast Texas where they went on an airboat ride and held baby alligators. They enjoyed scooter riding in the summer and fall with his brother Jim. Every fall they would spend a long weekend in a cabin with family, enjoying beautiful Algoma and Door County. They always looked forward to the yearly camper party in Blair with family and friends. The most special times in his life were spent with his children, grandchildren, and family. Bob and Nancy joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Stillwater, MN in 2009 and were baptized in 2010.


Bob is survived by his wife Nancy, his son Andrew Fischer of Hudson WI, daughter Stacey Rhein (Phillip) of Somerset WI, and grandchildren Chloe, Emma and Eli Fischer of Yakima, WA. He is also survived by two sisters Diana Bauer and Donna Burgess, aunts Ruth Taggetz and Darlene Fischer and many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Dorothy Fischer, his son Steven Fischer, brothers Jim Fischer and John Fischer, in-laws Burton and Joan Risberg, Richard Bauer and Tom Burgess.


A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in October 2026.
