Local research, data, and community discussion on the future of communities from Cumberland to Menomonie

Bringing in over two hundred farmers, business owners, public servants, Students, and citizens from the region, registration is now open for the 14th Annual Red Cedar Watershed Conference, held at the UW-Stout Memorial Student Center on March 12, 2026. The Red Cedar Watershed Conference is a collaboration across several counties to discuss water quality in the Red Cedar River basin. This year the focus will be on what we know and where we go from here.
The conference will cover the future of the land, the state of the water, and how that impacts the people throughout a series of engaging presentations and dialogues. A morning keynote from the Wisconsin Farmers Union will cover the state of farming and the driving impacts of the future, followed by a panel discussion of farmers. Next, the data and analysis of 10 years of water quality monitoring of the watershed will be shared and discussed by experts from UW Stout and a panel of lake representatives. Finally, the impacts of the potential pending Farm Bill on local communities will be discussed with UW-Madison economist, Jeff Hadachek and a panel discussion of SNAP and local foods.

$45 per person starting March 6, 2026. Students are encouraged to attend and can
