and a new one....
Volume One recently did a story about a new food subscription service, Tend & Table. Tend & Table came about after the federal government canceled the Local Food Purchase Assistance program in early 2025. Read the full article from Volume One HERE. Learn more about Tend & Table HERE.

We are so excited to share that starting Nov. 3rd, we will have games for checkout at the library! Our assortment of 32 new card games and board games has something for every age and interest. Thank you to the Community Foundation of Dunn County and the Barnard Family Charitable Fund for the grant used to purchase our game collection. Here's a list of the available games. The Dunn County Health Department shared a reminder that WIC is here for you and your family! WIC remains OPEN for business during the government shutdown.
WIC benefits are available and ready to use for WIC clients. This includes providing food benefits, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referral services.
All participants are encouraged to keep their appointments. Please contact your local WIC office (715-232-2498) with any questions or if you want to apply for benefits. Find more information HERE.
An update from the Haunted Hillside.
Thanks to your generosity, this year we raised over $7,000 for the Dunn County Humane Society! We want to thank everyone who came out to walk the trail this year, and spend some time celebrating the spooky season with us.
We also want to thank all the volunteers who spent a couple hours of their Friday and/or Saturday nights hiding in the dark woods, scaring folks who walked the trail. (My favorite part of the season is hearing the bloodcurdling screams drifting from the forest.)
A big thanks to Lewis Bjork Plumbing for providing a port-a-potty! It sure comes in handy so not as many people pee their pants on the trail...
We are truly grateful to the kind supporters who agreed to match the funds raised this year. So that means all your $5 donations, turns into $10 donations... bringing our total from over $7,000 to over $14,000!!!
We also want to thank Kayla (and her family) for all the time, work, effort and money that she puts into making this event so fun and successful. Her spooky visions are so much fun to bring to life... we can't wait until next year!

"Uh, hello? Community? It’s us... your favorite kids!"
We’ve got big dreams, bigger smiles, and slightly unrealistic snack expectations.
But we also need your help!
Our Club is full of future artists, athletes, scientists, and snack critics — but we’re a little low on supplies to keep the magic going. That’s where YOU come in.
Think of our Amazon Wishlist like a superhero utility belt — packed with the tools we need to create, learn, and grow (and maybe launch a dodgeball empire).
Want to be a hero? Check out our wish list, send a surprise, and prepare for instant karma and good vibes: AMAZON WISHLIST
Our kids say:
"Thank you for being awesome!"
"And also... are there snacks?"
